I'm finally getting around to photographing some stuff I've had for a while and one of them is this: the Gyakuten Saiban (Phoenix Wright) Houtei Figure Collection. I bought a case of these figures so I could get the whole set. There are seven different figures in all (six normal plus one variant).
I didn't know what to expect from these; I mean, I don't buy too many trading figures because it's sometimes hard to tell if they're gonna look really good or come out really bad. This set is somewhere in the middle, but I suppose I should've suspected that because their pricepoint is on the cheaper end of the trading figure spectrum...
Let's start with the case and individual boxes. The case is basically cube shaped and the graphics are printed in black and white.
The 8 individual boxes inside are color of course, and have some nice artwork from the game.
Phoenix Wright/Ryuuichi Naruhodou came out pretty nice. His hair is appropriately spikey and he's in his trademark objection pose. By the way, the lawyer's podium/desk comes with every figure, except for Maya Fey/Mayoi Ayasato who comes with the witness stand. The figures are pretty small--from 7.5cm to about 9cm (about 3 inches to 3.5 inches).
Mia Fey/Ayasato Chihiro looks a bit...not like herself. The figure has quite a large forehead.
Maya Fey/Mayoi Ayasato actually came out with a pretty good likeness to the artwork. From the prototype photos, I thought this was going to be a bad likeness.
Miles Edgeworth/Reiji Mitsurugi came out really bad. He simply doesn't have a very good likeness at all. The attitude is right though. What's up with the purple paint above the eyelids?!
Franziska von Karma/Mei Karuma has a very dynamic whip-toting pose. The likeness is pretty good on this figure I think.
Godot/Godou also seems to have a good likeness, though I'm not too sure since I haven't played the game he's in. There are two versions of him--one with mask and one without. His facial hair is well painted.
And here's a shot of everyone and a simple courtroom scene.
That about wraps up the photo review! Hope you enjoyed the photos!
These are still available at Play-Asia for $4.90 each.

Wow, they really did good on the Godot figures. I might buy those two for myself. Though, I can't help wondering why they left Maskless Godot's hair white, because the only time you see him without his mask in the game was when he still had black hair.
